Godan (5th Dan)

Andy Rawlings was first introduced to Jiu-Jitsu through his children's involvement in the sport. Watching them take lessons and witnessing his daughter earn her Black belt inspired him to try it out for himself. Andy recognized that Jiu-Jitsu could be an excellent way to improve his fitness while enjoying a new hobby.

In November 2013, both Andy and his son passed their Black belt gradings, making it an exciting family occasion. His daughter also gained another Kobudo level, further cementing the family's passion for martial arts.

When he's not practising Jiu-Jitsu, Andy works full-time in the furniture trade. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to rock music and playing a good game of darts. He finds the energy and excitement of rock music to be a great source of inspiration and motivation, while darts provide a much-needed outlet for stress relief.

Overall, Andy's experience with Jiu-Jitsu has been incredibly positive, and he is grateful for the ways in which it has enriched his life. Jiu-Jitsu has allowed him to connect with his family in new and meaningful ways, improve his physical health, and provide him with a rewarding hobby that helps him unwind after a busy day. Andy looks forward to continuing his practice and seeing where this exciting journey takes him next!
